Auction 58
Well if this is the future of NJ auctions we are in big trouble! US Amusements held its first auction in its new
location in Egg Harbor near Atlantic City on Saturday, 2/8/2003. Although the turnout was very small, all my collection
buddy's showed, so the day was not a total loss.
The new chosen location is one of those warehouse type, outlet type buildings that you typically find in-house
flee markets at. This location is separated into 3 buildings. I think our building was number 3. I didn't venture
out into building 1, but building 2 was mostly empty with only one 2 shops set up. The rest of the building was
empty. Building 2 was also the only location to take a leak as all the other bathrooms were closed! Back to our
building….
Back at the show, the games were placed in some of the smaller rooms (there were 4 smaller rooms), in the halls,
with the redemption, kiddy rides, pool tables and dart board in the entrance hall. Selection was poor but prices
were low. I would have bought 3 pieces myself, but didn't bid because I didn't want to deal with game loading after
the show. The parking lot was never plowed, and there was 6 inches of snow and ice to contend with if I won anything.
Parts prices were higher then average…. (Guess no one else really wanted to deal with game loading ether.. Parts
are easy to carry!)Most of the sellers seemed to be buying their equipment back as typically, good selling equipment,
like Ms Pacman's and Galaga's, were getting no bids
Well that's my outlook on the show…. Ill try to keep a more positive outlook on the next show, being that this
was the first at this location so I'm sure there is no where left to go but up!… And on to the prices!
